Ryan started the 2006 season opener pitching for Ridgetop JH Junior Varsity baseball against North Kitsap JH earning his first win of the season.

Innings pitched - 7 (complete game)

Number of pitches - 90

Earned runs - 1

Strike Outs - 8

Final pitching record 5 wins - 1 lose in 6 starts

Final Ridgetop JH JV team record 6 wins - 4 loses

Invited to play on a 14-15 year old Babe Ruth team was tough counting pitches and watching his arm to ensure he was available as needed for school baseball and still support the Bremerton West Side team.  Yet when he wasn't able to pitch his team leading .436 batting average helped out.  Unfortunately the team finished with a 2-11 season record placing them last of 7 teams for the end of season tournament.  The team started out nice beating the 6th place team to continue into the tournament bracket.  The next game was against the other Bremerton team (2 Bremerton, 5 CK teams) which put us into the loser bracket of this double elimination tournament.  Then one by one the teams came down to the loser bracket.  1, 2, 3 teams came down to the loser bracket.  Ryan and his team mates battled bravely beating them one at a time to continue on.  With school baseball over for the season he was now able to pitch as needed for West Side and it paid off.  3 teams left and suddenly we were playing against the team that sent us down.  This time the outcome was different as our team shut them down and earned the right to play in the championship game.  Unfortunately luck ran out and lost the game, but it was nice to go from last to 2nd place!

Just before the end of school baseball, Ryan was given the opportunity to tryout for a 13U select team.  The Wolfpack coach didn't hesitate asking Ryan to play for them.  The Wolfpack team was 3-8 at that point of the season, they finished 12-12.

Ryan's next invite to play baseball came from the parent of a Babe Ruth player.  He was putting together a team to play in a seven day tournament.  With the Wolfpack regular season over and a break before playing again, Ryan got a summer wish being able to play on the same team as his 2 friends Joey and Tim.

They didn't win many games, but had lots of fun with a memory to always be remembered.

Ryan's next ballgame would be found playing for the Wolfpack team at a local tournament.  They finished in 5th place as Ryan hit .571 and pitching a ERA 1.17 which earned him a trip to play in the All Star game the following weekend.  The All Star game was an exciting way to finish the season.  He got to pitch 1 inning where only 11 pitches were thrown (9 strikes - 2 balls) with 3 batters up and 3 down never going worse than a 1-2 count on a batter.  From 2 at bats he had a base hit and scored.

In all for the 2006 baseball season Ryan played in 52 games for 5 different teams.  If it was possible he would still be playing for a fall league team!
